The number of characters you can use for a Cost Centre or Stage is defined in the System Configuration form Job Costing tab. The Name information is used when invoicing out a job i.e. Cost Centre and Stage names and codes are combined for each stage being invoiced.
Steps
| 1. | Job Costing
 Configuration
Cost Centre (or Stages)
|
| 2. | Type in the Cost Centre (Stage) number, Name and Description |
| 3. | Repeat for as many records as needed |
| 4. | Ensure Enabled is ticked |
| 5. | Save changes |
Trying to delete a Cost Centre or Stage that has been used warns the record is in use and deletion is prevented
